Horse world gone mad!

I thought I would write a blog about the "HORSE WORLD" and respecting it. I noticed in my time riding horses( bout 13 years) and owning then that people in the horse world are mean and just plane rude. Every trainer I have been to have burned bridges with other trainers or trainers have burned them with them. All I have to say is if you want respect you got to give it. I am in horse back riding because it is a passion of mine, not a hobby, a passion, something I live for. The first thing I think when people dont give respect is, wow they dont love this sport they love the fame that comes with it, they love the rediculous price tag on there horse. I can tell you right now I know people who have a $600 dollar horse and can whip yall out of a blue riddon. All I am trying to say why is the horse whole going mad. It really doesnt matter if your 2 seconds late for the class in the showring, or forgot your course, lord, all we trying to do is have fun right?? Then why do so many people get yelled at by other trainers. I dont know, I quess I will never know. All I know is at the farm I ride/board at has passion, and has drive, we go strong or go home! That is my motto and I do live my it. I think all horse people should live by that, no greed!

Why are you guys (niki and kaijsas) talking about how much horses costs? Nobody said anything on how much there horse cost. Dont read this in a bad way cause its just a question. I totally agree with you that it doesnt matter what the horse costs. My horse was only $400 dollars and he's amazing.

I think the point the girls is trying to make is that so many people in this industry seem to thing the more they pay the better there horse is. People fail to account for training put in after purchase. Personally I prefer to see all of you spend less initially and get the pride of turning your projects into winners. Don't you feel better about yourselves earning the ribbons instead of them being purchased for you. How much better a rider does it mean you are when you can create something from nothing instead of having a made horse handed to you on a silver platter. ANyone can sit on a robot and win.

FYI Zee never was nasty to me in any way shape or form! He was not used in that many lessons a day, Holly didn't even have that many beginner lessons. Holly goes above and beyond to take care of her leson horses and if you think differently you obviously haven't been in many real lesson/training facilities!

I want to thank my girls for their qualification of our past situation. When there is a fact that needs to be coorected such as Zee never biting Paula that's perfect. Let's avoid being critical of other people's experiences though. We're all from different places and different backgrounds. Kaijsa wrote a great blog about the horseshow world being catty and that we try to stay above that. Let's be sure we are holding ourselves to that standard. It doesn't matter what we say if our actions don't match.
